Position Description
Texas State University is seeking applicants to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor to teach in both the online and in-person Master of Science programs in Engineering Management.
Applicants with expertise in all areas related to engineering management are invited to apply, and particular consideration will be given to candidates with past online teaching experience in engineering management, industrial engineering, or systems engineering.
The individual selected for this position will be expected to teach engineering management graduate level courses. The selected candidate is also expected to secure external funding and to conduct and publish research in areas appropriate for an emerging research institution. Engagement in service to the university and the profession is also expected.
This position is subject to the availability of funds.
Required Qualifications
For all ranks
  • An earned doctoral degree in an engineering or management (with an industrial focus) discipline
  • An undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution, or a closely related field from a similarly accredited institution
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills

For the rank of associate professor, in addition to those required above:
  • A demonstrated record of excellent teaching abilities
  • A strong record of research (as PI and co-PI) and peer-reviewed publications associated with external funding adequate to support students
  • A minimum of six years of teaching experience as a full-time faculty member in a related discipline

For the rank of professor, in addition to those required above:
  • An established national reputation among peers and demonstrated leadership through service to the university, professional organizations, and community or government agencies
  • A minimum of 12 years of teaching experience as a full-time faculty member in a related discipline

The successful applicant will be offered the appropriate rank and title based on the established standards of the university and the department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry experience in engineering and/or engineering management
  • Research interests and experience in fields related to engineering management, industrial engineering, and/or systems engineering
  • Professional certification and/or licensure in a related discipline
  • Experience teaching courses in an online environment at the graduate level
