Job description

The Carey School, a Preschool to 5th grade independent school in San Mateo, California seeks an experienced educator for a Temporary 3rd-5th grade Mandarin teacher position in a hands-on, active learning environment. As a member of the world language team, and a member of the faculty, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues, designing inquiry-based curriculum and integrating content across class and content areas. In addition to a command of the Mandarin language and curriculum and curriculum at 3rd-5th grade levels, candidates must have a strong understanding of children's developmental level and practice utilizing differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of all learners. The Carey School is committed to being an inclusive environment that supports the social emotional growth of all constituents and seeks candidates who value this endeavor.


This is a temporary, full-time, exempt position, with benefits and employment is expected to be from October 7, 2026 - April 16, 2027. The anticipated salary range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is based on an annual salary of $105K - $115K, depending on factors such as experience or education.
