Job Summary REGISTRAR OF VOTERS Temporary Election Worker Specialist Logistics and Warehouse Operations - Dispatch Driver The County of San Diego Registrar of Voters is seeking Drivers to fill temporary logistics operations employment positions for the upcoming November 3, 2026, election. The ideal candidate for this position follows direction, is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. Strong communication skills, and the ability to safely operate county vehicles are essential to ensure smooth and efficient election logistics.

Schedule Monday 10/19 - Thursday 11/5: Monday 10/19 - Thursday 10/22: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM Friday 10/23: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM Saturday 10/24: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM Sunday 10/25 - Thursday 10/29: 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday 10/30: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM Saturday 10/31 - Monday 11/2: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM Tuesday 11/3: 6:30 AM - 11:00 PM Wednesday 11/4 - Thursday 11/5: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM General Skills/ Abilities: Proficient in the use of a smartphone Ability to operate vehicles safely in varied traffic, weather, and road conditions Proficient in using GPS systems, maps, and navigation tools; able to adjust routes as needed Strong time management skills with the ability to meet daily collection schedules Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, including performing routine checks and identifying potential issues High attention to detail to ensure all collections are accurate and secure Physical ability to lift, load, and unload items repeatedly throughout the day Accurate recordkeeping and documentation skills Problem-solving abilities to address unexpected delays, closures, or equipment issues Professional communication and customer service skills when interacting with voters or the public Knowledge of and adherence to all relevant safety, traffic, and operational regulations Detail oriented (matching of numbers, sorting, and packaging) Ability to learn new work processes and procedures Ability to work in fast-paced environment Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures Task Specific Skill/ Abilities: Inspect vehicle before and after route and complete vehicle log Monitor equipment and supplies Answer questions from voters, observers, and the general public Work as a team when on a route, completing official forms and using technology to track progress Drive mid-size vehicle using a route list and a set schedule Properly store supplies in designated locations Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and order of the warehouse by using brooms, mops, disinfectants, solvents or other cleaning tools or supplies Work with minimal supervision Desirable Traits: Strong work ethic Attention to detail Punctual Dependable Essential Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
