Job description

SUMMARY
This position is responsible for implementation, administration, and disaster recovery of Microsoft Windows and Linux systems in client's data center space in Bellevue. Looking forsomeone that is proficient in administrating linux servers and working inside linux bash command line. Will interact with customers in both English and Japanese.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Builds and Assists with hosting POP, Web, MTA servers (MS Windows and Linux).
  • Troubleshoots and resolves MS Windows/Linux Platform issues.
  • Constructs various system service for dedicated servers.
  • Automates server side routines with use of custom made scripts.
  • Manages and administers virtualized servers.
  • Troubleshoots for Network issues.
  • Administers Patch Management for Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Manages rack-mounted servers and network equipments.
  • Monitors system performances/service/network traffic using monitoring tools.
  • Implements system monitoring tools.
  • Maintains disaster recovery procedure and documentation for all servers.
  • Administers backup software.
  • Manages backup and restore routine.
  • Provides technical support for external customers.
  • Diagnoses and repairs hardware for systems.
  • Deploys all necessary patches for the operating system/network equipments/applications.
  • Communicates with R&D and the Sales Team to solve any issues.
  • Terminates/dresses/runs Cat5/e network cables, and dresses/runs power cables.
  • Documents troubleshooting procedures and resolutions.
  • Manages storage area network (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), and direct-attached storage (DAS) devices.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues with limited time and resources.
  • Ability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee may have to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Candidate must be able to work Day, Swing, or Graveyard shift
