Overview

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

This is a temporary full-time position to directly support laboratory research in the Corey Lab in the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division (VIDD).ย  The Lab Aide will work closely with Dr. Karsten Eichholz on an ongoing study to develop chimeric antigen receptor T cells.ย  They will be responsible for performing laboratory experiments, interpreting the results, and communicating results to Dr. Eichholz.

Responsibilities
  • Help to clone plasmid constructs.
  • Help with lentiviral vector production and determine their titers using flow cytometry.
  • Communicate progress and results to project PI.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with an interest in the sciences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Documented evidence of HIPAA training, and be willing to complete additional research training.ย 
  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to use MS word, PowerPoint and Excel. ย 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent work ethic are required.
  • Flexible and able to work independently without supervision.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
