Work Schedule
Teach in person at the Quanzhou University of Information Engineering (QUIE) in China. Faculty teach 4 courses per semester; schedule depends on course times. Office hours across three days.
Position Summary Information
Position Summary
The School of Business Department at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications to fill a full-time temporary faculty member - non-tenure track (Instructor or Assistant Professor rank depending on qualifications and experience) to join the faculty of the Information Systems (IS) program beginning August 2026.
The position will be located in China to teach in our established international program at our partner university. This is a temporary full-time position (non-tenure track) for the 2026-2027 Academic year.
The department has a partnership with a university in China to which we offer our BS in information systems program. The School of Business is AACSB accredited. Job duties include:
  1. Excellent classroom instruction, which may include online, traditional, and alternative instructional methods.
  2. Research/Scholarship that may involve undergraduate students.
  3. Other duties that may be assigned.

Faculty members are required by contract to engage in continuing scholarly development, academic advising, as well as performing department and university service.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a master's degree in information systems or closely related field.
Successful candidate be willing to teach overseas in China.
Successful performance in an interview, including a teaching demonstration.
Ability to effectively teach Information Systems program courses face-to-face and online when required.
Commitment to the education of diverse populations, perceived ability to work productively with students and colleagues, and engagement in appropriate research endeavors is required.
Required to teach in person in China for the duration of the contract.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Information Systems or closely related field from a AACSB accredited institution strongly preferred.
Graduate degree from a AACSB accredited institution strongly preferred.
Demonstrated teaching excellence and relevant teaching experience at the university level.
Highly qualified in the areas of interest to the department. Some of the areas of interest for the department include: Productivity Software, Management Information Systems, Cyber Security, Advanced Business Database Systems, Business Data Communication and Technology, Big Data for Business, Project Management, Enterprise Architecture, and Systems Analysis, and other areas of Information Systems and Technology Management will be entertained.
