Job description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented International Tax Specialist to join our dynamic and growing international tax practice based in downtown Chicago. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and quantitative international tax matters as part of a high-performing, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review U.S. international tax filings including but not limited to:

    • Form 5471 (Information Return of U.S. Persons With Respect to Certain Foreign Corporations)

    • Form 8858 (Information Return of U.S. Persons With Respect to Foreign Disregarded Entities)

    • FBAR (Foreign Bank Account Report)

    • Form 8621 (Information Return by a Shareholder of a Passive Foreign Investment Company)

    • Form 8938 (Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets)

  • Support compliance and reporting related to U.S. international tax regulations and disclosure requirements.

  • Conduct technical research and analysis on international tax issues.

  • Collaborate with other team members to deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced environment.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient tax strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in U.S. international tax compliance and reporting.

  • Strong knowledge of international tax forms and reporting requirements (5471, 8858, FBAR, 8621, 8938).

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in-office 4 days per week
