Job description

Position Summary:
We're seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Financial Planning & Compliance Manager to join our high-performing team. This individual will serve as the CFO's right hand, directly supporting all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and government compliance. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, individual contributor role that requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of federal contracting requirements, and the technical ability to build and automate reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Build and maintain dynamic financial models, including project-level forecasts and company-wide projections
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reports to drive insights across the business
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support government compliance efforts including: - Indirect rate development and monitoring
  • Incurred Cost Submissions (ICE)
  • DCAA compliance (e.g., SF1408, accounting system audits)
  • Partner with project managers and operational leaders to track financial performance and analyze variances
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to audit-related requests
  • Help develop internal controls and process improvements to support growth and compliance

Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree; in accounting or finance preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or compliance roles
  • Experience in a federal government contracting environment is required
  • Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS, DCAA audits, indirect rate structures, and other federal compliance areas
  • Advanced Excel and modeling skills
  • Proficiency with Power BI (or equivalent dashboarding tools)
  • Experience with Deltek, Unanet, JAMIS, or similar GovCon ERP systems is a plus
  • Experience with Oracle Financial management software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment

Pay Range:
• Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, ME, NY, VA Areas-$92,600.00 - $138,900.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
