The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 60% to 100% (24 to 40 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Holiday Road and North Dodge Pediatric ClinicsThis position will mainly support our Holiday Road and North Dodge Pediatric Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations.

We provide care for pregnancy, baby wellness, vaccinations, school and athletic physicals, acute visits, annual check-ups, mental health, on-site laboratory services, and more. Our team builds relationships with patients, monitors their care history, and delivers personalized, compassionate care to every patient. When a patient needs specialty care, our family medicine provider connects them with the appropriate UI Health Care specialist, ensuring a seamless experience by sharing your medical records.

Duties to include:

  • Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
  • Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
  • In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.

Percent of Time: 60% - 100% (24 - 40 hours per week)

Schedule: Variable hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 7:00 pm, standard hours will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, limited, rotating weekends, no holidays or on-call time.

Location: Iowa City, IA and Coralville, IA (or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours)

Pay Grade: 11 

Salary: $45,455.76 - $67,713.84 (at 100% time) Hourly: $21.77 - $32.43 (based on years of experience)

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support provider

Special Qualification/License:

  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards. 
  • Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

Highly Desired Requirements

  • Previous EPIC experience.
  • Previous Pediatric Clinic experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role.
  • Previous immunization experience.
