This role focuses on assembling high-quality furniture for luxury pontoon boats using pre-sewn upholstery materials and sub-structure components. You follow clear written instructions, use a variety of hand tools, and ensure each furniture piece meets precise standards of fit, finish, and durability.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble furniture components for luxury pontoon boats according to written work instructions and production specifications.
  • Use hand tools such as scissors, staplers, wrenches, and hammers to cut, fasten, and secure upholstery and structural materials.
  • Work with sub-straight materials and pre-sewn upholstery pieces to build complete furniture assemblies.
  • Inspect materials and finished assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper alignment before moving them to the next stage.
  • Follow established assembly sequences to complete one full furniture build per day, as typical volume requires.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and handled.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines while operating tools and handling materials in a manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and resolve assembly issues.

  • Support general production and labor tasks as needed to keep workflow moving efficiently.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience with assembly work, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with furniture assembly or upholstery assembly.
  • Ability to use hand tools including scissors, staplers, wrenches, and hammers safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written work instructions accurately.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with general labor and production tasks.
  • Capability to stand, move, and work with tools throughout a full shift in a manufacturing setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in boat, furniture, or upholstery manufacturing is beneficial.
  • Experience working with pre-sewn materials and sub-structure components is a plus.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with seasonal fluctuations in workload.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small, growing team and adapt to process improvements.

Why Work Here?

You join a growing manufacturer of luxury pontoon boats with a clear path for advancement as the facility expands and headcount increases. The team operates in a stable, climate-controlled production environment with a schedule designed to support work-life balance through four 10-hour workdays and Fridays off in most weeks. As the operation continues to grow and relocate to a larger facility, you gain opportunities to develop your skills, take on new responsibilities, and grow your career within a company that values long-term development and internal progression.

Work Environment

This position is based in a boat manufacturing facility where furniture assemblies are built for luxury pontoon boats. Work takes place in a climate-controlled area, with typical volume of approximately one complete furniture build per day. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., operating on a four 10-hour day workweek, with Fridays generally off unless additional hours are needed.
