Company Overview
Grow Your Career with a Company That Gives You the Freedom to Build Something.
For more than 35 years, Thrifty Office Furniture has helped businesses throughout North Carolina create productive, functional workspaces. We provide new and pre-owned office furniture, design services, project management, installation, relocation, and ongoing service.
Unlike many dealerships, we are not tied to a single manufacturer. As an open-line dealer representing more than 100 manufacturers, we recommend the best solution for our customers—not just one brand.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for experienced commercial furniture sales professionals to expand our presence in the Wilmington/Eastern North Carolina market.
Position Summary
This is not an entry-level sales position.
We're looking for an experienced commercial office furniture salesperson who understands how to develop business, build relationships, and manage projects from the initial conversation through installation.
You'll have the support of an experienced design team, project managers, purchasing staff, and installers so you can focus on what you do best—building relationships and growing your territory.
What You'll Do
  •  Develop new commercial business throughout your assigned territory
  •  Build long-term relationships with businesses and organizations
  •  Call on architects, designers, contractors, project managers, property managers, and end users
  •  Generate proposals and present furniture solutions
  •  Work closely with our design and operations teams
  •  Manage projects from first meeting through installation
  •  Maintain an active sales pipeline in our CRM
  •  Attend networking events and industry functions
  •  Become the local face of Thrifty Office Furniture in your market
Qualifications
Required
  •  Minimum 3 years of commercial office furniture sales experience
  •  Proven ability to develop new business
  •  Strong communication and presentation skills
  •  Self-motivated with excellent time management
  •  Valid driver's license
Preferred
  •  Existing relationships within the commercial furniture industry
  •  Experience working with architects, designers, contractors, and facility managers
  •  Experience responding to RFPs
  •  Knowledge of commercial furniture manufacturers
  •  Familiarity with dealership sales processes
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
✔ Enjoys meeting new people
✔ Is comfortable prospecting
✔ Takes ownership of their territory
✔ Builds relationships for the long term
✔ Is dependable and accountable
✔ Works well with a team
✔ Wants to grow with a locally owned company
Compensation & Benefits
  •  Competitive base salary plus commission
  •  Mileage reimbursement or vehicle allowance
  •  Paid vacation
  •  Paid holidays
  •  Health benefits (if applicable)
  •  Support from an experienced design, operations, and installation team

Flexible work from home options available.
