Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and effective handling of materials, ensuring timely delivery of parts, tools, or equipment to production and shipping departments. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • At all times ensures safety is the top priority while performing any part of the job.
  • Ensure that all established safety and company policies are being followed. Communicate any issues with the Supervisor.
  • Selects inventory to satisfy production requirements.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, tools, or other stock items and distributes them to production.
  • Replenishes picking locations by transferring and moving inventory from overflow locations.
  • Perform cycle counts as assigned. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Receive and put away inventory. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Fills customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to shipping department.
  • Label materials with identifying information.
  • Use of computer systems to check inventory quantities, locations, etc.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Uses equipment and materials properly; Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
  • Highschool diploma or GED; six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be willing to operate a forklift, stock picker, pallet jack and hand truck as necessary.
  • Experience using RFSmart software is considered a plus.
  • Ability to learn AX2012, RFSmart, and KVP.
