Job description

Lutheran Hospital of Indiana is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist for a dedicated Nocturnist position providing 100% inpatient cardiology care. This is a long-term need with locum-to-perm priority and scheduled 12-hour shifts, 7pm 7am, beginning early January 2026.

Assignment Overview
  • Position: Cardiology Nocturnist (Inpatient Only)

  • Location: Lutheran Hospital of Indiana Fort Wayne, IN

  • Shift Structure: 7p 7a (12-hour shifts)

  • Schedule: 7-on / 7-off, starting Monday at 7pm and ending the following Monday at 7am

  • Start Date: 12/31/2025 and ongoing

  • Type: Locums-to-Perm strongly preferred; locums-only considered

  • EMR: Cerner

  • Trauma Level: Level II

  • Patients per Shift:

  • Temporary Privileges: Not available

Clinical Scope

100% Inpatient Cardiology, including:

  • Nighttime rounding and inpatient management

  • Admissions

  • TEE/Evening TEE/Night TEE call support

  • No outpatient responsibilities

  • No echo, nuclear, or EKG reads required

  • No APP supervision and no APP support

Requirements
  • Board-Certified Cardiologist

  • ACLS & BLS required- We can help with Life Support certification if needed.

  • Any-state license considered- We will obtain an IN Medical License for you upon acceptance.

  • Credentialing timeframe: days
