Temporary Devops Internship information

Is $20 an hour good for an intern?

For a Temporary Devops Internship, $20 an hour is generally considered competitive, especially for entry-level positions that may require basic knowledge of tools like Docker, Jenkins, or cloud platforms. Interns often earn between minimum wage and $20 per hour, depending on location, skills, and the company's budget, but this rate can be above average for some regions or industries. Factors such as the internship's responsibilities, learning opportunities, and whether it offers additional benefits should also be considered when evaluating pay.

What is the difference between Temporary Devops Internship vs Temporary Cloud Engineer?

AspectTemporary Devops InternshipTemporary Cloud Engineer
Required CredentialsBasic knowledge of DevOps tools, possibly pursuing related certificationsRelevant certifications like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud often preferred
Work EnvironmentInternship setting, often in tech companies or IT departmentsProject-based, cloud platform-focused roles in similar environments
Employer & Industry UsageUsed by companies seeking entry-level DevOps supportUsed by organizations deploying cloud infrastructure and services
Search & Comparison IntentPeople exploring entry-level DevOps roles or internshipsIndividuals comparing cloud-focused roles with DevOps internships

The main difference is that a Temporary Devops Internship is an entry-level, learning-focused position aimed at gaining foundational DevOps skills, while a Temporary Cloud Engineer role involves more technical responsibilities related to cloud infrastructure deployment and management. Both roles are valuable for those starting in IT but differ in scope and required expertise.

Can you get a DevOps job with no experience?

Entry-level DevOps internships and positions often do not require prior experience, focusing instead on foundational skills like scripting, understanding of cloud platforms, and familiarity with tools such as Docker or Jenkins. Gaining certifications or completing relevant coursework can improve chances, but practical experience through labs or personal projects is highly beneficial for securing a DevOps role without prior work experience.

What is the salary for a DevOps intern?

The salary for a DevOps internship typically ranges from $15 to $30 per hour, depending on the location, company, and level of experience. Interns often receive stipends or hourly wages and may have opportunities to learn skills with tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes during their internship period.

Is DevOps dead due to AI?

DevOps remains a vital role in IT, focusing on automation, continuous integration, and deployment processes. AI tools can enhance DevOps workflows but do not replace the need for skilled professionals who manage infrastructure, scripting, and system reliability. As AI advances, DevOps practitioners may need to adapt by integrating new technologies and developing expertise in AI-driven automation.

ABOUT PERFORMLINE
PerformLine is a leading provider of multi-channel marketing compliance technology for enterprises in highly regulated industries. The company's platform supports pre-publication review of marketing assets and post-publication monitoring across marketing channels including web, social, and email-helping organizations manage risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect their brands at scale. PerformLine is headquartered in Morristown, New Jersey, and serves clients across financial services and other regulated markets.
Come as you are. We are an equal opportunity workplace celebrating diversity and committed to creating an inclusive and equitable experience for all.
MISSION
Our mission is to empower compliance leaders with the technology and knowledge to ensure their organization and partners provide transparent and accurate information to consumers across any channel.
OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Our program provides value for our interns both during and after their internship!
PerformLine interns can expect to build valuable skills, knowledge, tools and training through a series of hands-on "prep sessions" to fully prepare them for their next career move. Think mentorship, resume reviews / enhancements, interview training and even mock sessions to practice their new skills!
**Ask about earning course credit for your university!!**
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Data & AI Workflows
  • Use Claude and other AI tools to extract, clean, and transform large client data sets - building repeatable, AI-assisted workflows instead of one-off manual pulls
  • Analyze data and surface actionable insights, using Claude to accelerate exploration, summarization, and reporting within the product interface
  • Maintain tracking of client-specific reporting goals based on quotas and capacity
  • Conduct industry research (federal regulation, speech analytics, internet protocols) and use AI to synthesize findings and apply them to team processes in real time
  • Build comprehensive playbooks and prompt guides to add to our training library

AI & Automation Support / QA
  • Test AI and automation tools by running structured test cases, evaluating outputs, and flagging failures or edge cases for engineering follow-up
  • Identify candidates for AI automation by spotting repetitive manual tasks based on volume, repeatability, and error rate
  • Handle exceptions and edge cases that AI can't yet manage, applying judgment where human review is required
  • Use SQL and AI-assisted checks to validate that automated and AI-generated outputs match expected results
  • Track QA outcomes across AI/automation rollouts, noting regressions and gaps
  • Build reports that measure AI/automation impact vs. manual baseline (time saved, error reduction, task deflection)

WHO YOU ARE
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and an expert multi-tasker
  • Quick to learn new technologies and curious about applying them to real work
  • Excellent writing and research skills (including the ability to prompt AI effectively)
  • Self-motivated team player comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced startup
  • Able to take a project and run with it under limited supervision
  • Positive, can-do attitude that thrives amidst ambiguity
  • Track record of over-achievement

WHY YOU'LL LOVE US
  • Growth potential and great intern retention rate
  • Start up atmosphere, no cubicles or suits here!
  • Fun work environment where hard work is rewarded
  • Frequent happy hours and team outings
  • An office always stocked with coffee, snacks, and other drinks
  • Teammates who have your back in and out of the office

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Estimated hourly range $20-25.
    • Exact compensation for this role depends on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, and market data.
