Job description

Location: Remote (Must reside in the Greater Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area)
Compensation: $40.00-$50.00 per hour DOE
Employment Type: Contract (6 Month Assignment), Remote, Full-Time
A respected legal organization is seeking an experienced Conflicts Analyst to join its Legal Operations team on a temporary basis. This role supports the review of new matters and potential hires to identify, analyze, and facilitate the resolution of conflicts of interest in accordance with professional responsibility standards and internal policies. This is a fully remote opportunity; however, candidates must reside in the Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct conflicts searches and conflict analyses for new matters, clients, contacts, and prospective hires.
  • Review new matter intake requests and conflicts submissions to ensure all necessary information has been provided.
  • Research parties, organizations, corporate relationships, and related entities to support comprehensive conflicts reviews.
  • Generate and analyze conflicts reports utilizing Intapp or similar conflicts management platforms.
  • Identify potential ethical, legal, and business conflicts and prepare detailed summaries for attorney and management review.
  • Escalate complex conflicts issues to appropriate legal and operational stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed records and file notes regarding conflicts reviews, resolutions, and approvals.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, legal operations professionals, and business teams to gather information and resolve conflicts concerns.
  • Support compliance with Rules of Professional Conduct, organizational policies, and risk management protocols.
  • Perform web-based corporate and entity research as needed to verify relationships and potential conflicts.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of conflicts experience within a law firm, legal department, or professional services environment.
  • Experience using Intapp NBI, Intapp Risk, or comparable conflicts and intake systems.
  • Working knowledge of conflicts of interest principles and professional responsibility rules.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to assess complex information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.
  • Demonstrated discretion handling highly confidential information.
  • Experience reviewing both new business intake and lateral hire conflicts.
  • Familiarity with legal operations, risk management, or compliance functions.
  • Experience conducting corporate family tree and entity research.
  • Prior experience in a large law firm or sophisticated legal environment.
