Legal Assistant – Insurance Defense Litigation

Chatsworth, CA

Our Chatsworth-based civil litigation law firm, specializing in Insurance Defense Litigation, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join our team.

We are a collegial, family-friendly firm that values high-quality legal work while maintaining a healthy work/life balance. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal assistant seeking long-term stability in a supportive and respectful environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide litigation support to attorneys handling insurance defense matters

  • Prepare, format, and file pleadings and legal documents

  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and court filings (state and federal)

  • Coordinate discovery, including preparation and responses

  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation , including trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and subpoenas

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience as a legal assistant in civil litigation (insurance defense preferred)

  • Experience assisting with trial preparation

  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court rules

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems

  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
