Chief Medical Officer
Position Summary
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) serves as the designated responsible physician and senior clinical authority for Thrive Medical Services. The CMO provides clinical leadership, establishes medical standards of care, and ensures that medical services are delivered in accordance with professional practice standards, licensure requirements, and NCCHC accreditation standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Serves as the designated responsible physician with final authority over clinical medical decisions.
• Develops, approves, and oversees clinical protocols, standing orders, and treatment guidelines.
• Provides clinical supervision and peer review for medical providers.
• Participates in mortality reviews, adverse clinical event analysis, and CQI activities.
• Ensures compliance with medical autonomy standards by safeguarding provider independence.
• Advises executive leadership on clinical risk, regulatory requirements, and system improvements.
• Collaborates with nursing and mental health leadership to ensure integrated patient care.
Qualifications
• MD or DO with unrestricted New Mexico medical license.
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Minimum 5 years clinical leadership experience in institutional or correctional healthcare.
