Job description

Description:

Temporary assignment for 90 days. Temporary employees will have the ability to apply for roles internally and move when available.


Reports to

Shift Supervisor

The operator is responsible for correct loading of components in a high volume automotive organization. It includes precision work producing parts in a safe, efficient way while maintaining high quality.

Summary/Objective

  • Operate assigned equipment on a daily basis, such as; loading parts into the furnace, changing furnace recipes, palletizing parts, annealing and inspections and cryogenic tempering and inspections
  • Prevent non-conforming and mixed parts
  • Understand and apply hardness testing basics
  • Identify part types visually
  • Measures parts to ensure a high level of accuracy, reproducibility and repeatability using; digital micrometers, bench gauges, dial indicators and digital calipers
  • Meets quality requirements by identifying the types of defects and likely causes. Immediately reports or corrects quality concerns as appropriate
  • Assist other departments as needed
  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to handle high volume production
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety policies and procedures
  • Understand and follow process documentation including process prints and work instructions
  • Ability to understand and use metric measurements
  • Understanding of basic math equations
  • Meet quality, production and work center goals
  • The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience in a machining environment
  • Basic Computer skills including ERP Systems
  • Solid mechanical knowledge

Physical Demands

  • Required to stand for long periods of time and move about the facility
  • Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 40 lbs
  • Use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Work primarily in a plant environment
