Who You Are

In this role as a Robotics Application Engineer, you will provide application engineering expertise across FANUC's robotic products and technologies to support Material Handling applications across Automotive and General Industry markets. You will support customers, integrators, and sales teams by driving application development, product planning, strategic sales support, and the creation of demonstrations for tradeshows and marketing initiatives.

How It's Done

  • Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert for material handling applications by guiding customers, engineering teams, and sales on the effective application of FANUC robotics products
  • Provide pre-sales application support, including application reviews, feasibility studies, simulations, customer presentations, demonstrations, and technical support for strategic sales opportunities
  • Provide post-sales technical support by assisting customers with troubleshooting, application optimization, and resolution of system- and application-level issues
  • Investigate and manage product and application issues by identifying root causes, evaluating corrective actions, and maintaining clear and proactive communication with cross-functional teams
  • Support product planning and development by contributing application and market insights, evaluating product performance, reviewing documentation, assessing competitive products, and supporting customer-facing materials
  • Develop new and emerging applications and market opportunities by researching use cases, validating solution concepts, performing proof-of-concept testing, and collaborating with sales and product teams
  • Provide technical input to new products and technology development by defining application requirements, evaluating new features, and supporting validation and testing activities
  • Concept, develop, and support demonstration systems for tradeshows, customer demonstrations, and marketing initiatives to showcase the capabilities and value of FANUC robotics solutions
  • Travel to customer sites and tradeshows as needed (~15%)

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Software) or equivalent relevant experience
  • 2+ years of engineering experience with automated manufacturing or robotic systems

What Would Be Even Better

  • FANUC robot programming and industrial automation experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD and 2D industry-standard drawings
  • Experience with SolidWorks and 3D modeling standards
  • Familiarity with FANUC robot machine vision systems, specifically iRVision
