Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiology IV to join our team. This position is responsible for sequencing waste, foodborne pathogens, and organisms associated with healthcare-acquired infections. The selected candidate will support multiple grant-funded initiatives, including ALC Core, SHARP, AMD, and BRT programs.

The ideal candidate will perform, analyze, and interpret complex bacteriological, serological, and virological testing while maintaining strict adherence to established laboratory procedures and quality control standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex bacteriological, serological, and virological laboratory testing.
  • Sequence waste, foodborne pathogens, and healthcare-associated infectious organisms.
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory results with a high level of accuracy.
  • Follow established laboratory protocols and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
  • Support grant-funded public health and research initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, Bacteriology, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific field (Required).

Experience

  • Minimum of four (4) years of laboratory experience involving bacteriology, serology, or virology.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a clinical, public health, or research laboratory.
  • Ability to accurately interpret complex laboratory data.
