Job description

SEWS—El Paso Customer Service Center (Eastside)
Job Title: Manager, Operations (Production Warehouse)
Responsible for managing production warehouse operations at the El Paso Customer Service Center, overseeing approximately 140 associates and the daily shipment of products to 180 customers. Provides leadership and direction to a team consisting of five Supervisors, approximately 90 Material Handlers and Clerks, and 50 temporary employees. Supports key automotive customers, including Ford, Stellantis, Rivian, Tesla, GM, Subaru, and Toyota, as well as Tier suppliers. Manages inventory control and coordinates shipments from 12 SEWS manufacturing plants located throughout Mexico.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor customer orders and related activities to ensure on-time delivery requirements are met.
  • Create operational flow charts, procedures, and work instructions for metrics reporting to management. Monitor weekly build reports issued by the delivery team to support smooth start-up activities. Ensure all compensation requests are submitted by required deadlines.
  • Create, process and track requisitions, BPCS entries, P&L reports and GL corrections.
  • Conduct internal safety audits and provide support for MSDS and OSHA compliance.
  • Lead the recruitment, selection, training, and performance evaluation of delivery team members.  Maintain open and effective communication with all staff. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.  Lead the team in identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Manage receiving and shipping documents, cycle count documents, and record retention reports. Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure availability aligns with customer demand.  Communicate with customers, manufacturing plants, and local staff to support timely production and inventory availability.
  • Issuance 8D reports and lead the investigation and analysis process.
  • Track and manage receiving and shipping reports, create BOLs, PLs, and other shipping documentation.  Provide direction and support to warehouse operations to ensure complete and timely delivery to all customers.
  • Resolve receiving and inventory discrepancies and create and issue DNRs to manufacturing plants. Support physical inventory activity twice a year or as directed by the Company. 
  • Review supplier performance reports and ensure root cause analysis is conducted. Develop and implement effective countermeasures in a timely manner. Communicate issues, actions, and results clearly to customers and the SEWS upper management team. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in production and warehouse operations and import experience required.
  • Strong mathematical skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Knowledge of sequential manufacturing, scheduling, international business, import experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the effective manufacture and distribution of finished goods, primarily on automotive industry.
  • FCA and Ford e-supplier portal experience.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment, manage competing priorities, and meet operational deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments.
  • Proven experience in supply chain, logistics, or a related field. 
  • Experience in data mining, analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g., inventory planning, warehouse management).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
