What is a temp screener?

Temp screeners, or temperature screeners, are individuals responsible for checking the body temperature of employees, visitors, or patients as they enter a facility. Their main goal is to help prevent the spread of illness by identifying individuals who may have a fever, which can be a symptom of infectious diseases like COVID-19. Temp screeners typically use non-contact infrared thermometers and may also ask basic health screening questions. They are commonly found at hospitals, offices, schools, or event venues, especially during public health emergencies.
