Job description

About This Role:
The Security Guard fulfills a variety of security and safety related duties and responsibilities. During an assigned shift, ensures the protection of the Company's employees, facilities, product, and information.
Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company's values of Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Family, and Social Responsibility.
*The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 5:30am-2:00pm.
Essential Functions:
  • Ensures that vehicle and foot traffic is business related and authorized. Ensures the security and safety of company assets from an assigned security post.
  • Conducts foot and vehicle patrols of Hunter Property ensuring that employees and facilities are safe and secure. Performs periodic rounds through buildings to ensure that all non-essential equipment is turned off if not required for use after business hours. Ensures that perimeter doors are locked, and buildings are secure after business hours. Responds to alarms and security related incidents. Provides parking lot escort service as requested when available.
  • Assists in monitoring company's access control and global CCTV systems. Reacts to alarms and suspicious activity, dispatching security personnel to the problem locations.
  • Acts as an emergency coordinator in the event of accidents, fire, power outage, bomb threat, or civil disorder/violence. Makes 911 calls and notifies management and appropriate team members of emergency events.
  • Provides first aid, CPR, and portable defibrillator response services.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and transfers calls or relays messages to appropriate team members, as necessary.
  • Maintains an electronic and written log of all security activities and unusual incidents. Maintains the Company's lost and found function.
  • May be required to work overtime and/or rotating shifts, wear company security attire, and maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance while on duty.

Education/Training Required and Preferred:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required and Preferred:
  • Minimum 1 year of security or related work experience.

What You Bring:
  • Strong customer service, and verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to comprehend work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behavior.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization and time management skills. Must be open to change and able to adapt to new information and unexpected obstacles.
  • Proficiency with computers, with the ability to perform data entry, view electronic procedures, and complete training courses.
  • Ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).
  • Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently, making effective decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Must be able to accurately perform intermediate mathematical and statistical calculations and use a weight counting scale.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with members across the organization.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record sufficient to meet requirements to be insured by company.
