Effective communication and flexibility are key, as needs can change quickly in short-term placements. This collaborative approach ensures client satisfaction and allows chefs to deliver a tailored culinary experience.

What is a Temp Private Chef?

A Temp Private Chef is a culinary professional who is hired on a temporary or short-term basis to prepare meals for private clients, such as families, individuals, or small groups. Unlike full-time private chefs, temp private chefs may work for just a few days, weeks, or for specific events like parties, vacations, or special occasions. Their duties typically include menu planning, grocery shopping, meal preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanup. This role is ideal for clients who need personalized culinary services without a long-term commitment.

Private Chef

Full-Time  —  Jackson, Wyoming

175K+   ·   Full Benefits Package   ·   Housing Provided

THE OPPORTUNITY

DM Estate Staffing is representing a lovely family in Jackson, Wyoming, seeking a full-time Private Chef. Meals are prepared primarily for the principals, with occasional family and guests. This is a role for someone who is drawn to the rhythm of mountain west living and feels genuinely at home in a remote setting, where the pace, the seasons, and the landscape shape daily life.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and ego-free — someone who takes genuine pride in refined, ingredient-driven cooking and thrives in a private household environment built on trust, discretion, and long-term consistency.

PLEASE NOTE — NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

Before applying, please confirm that you meet all three of the following. The family is firm on each, and we are only able to move forward with candidates who satisfy every point.

  • Significant experience cooking in internationally recognized restaurants in Europe.A background that includes well-known three-Michelin-star establishments is strongly preferred.
  • A demonstrated history of longevity in past roles. The family places real value on chefs who have stayed with the majority of their employers for several years. Stability across a career is essential.
  • Significant experience living and working in a remote location, with a sincere desire to settle in this region for the long term. The family is looking for someone who embraces the mountain west lifestyle wholeheartedly, not as a temporary chapter.

THE ROLE AT A GLANCE

  • Seasonal menu development aligned with the family’s preferences and lifestyle
  • Sourcing and procurement of exceptional ingredients, including specialty items requiring advanced planning
  • Support for intimate dinners, holiday meals, and guest dining experiences
  • Occasional travel with the family and culinary support at additional residences
  • Collaboration with household staff in a professional, unobtrusive environment

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A strong foundation in whole-foods, ingredient-driven cooking with an elevated yet approachable style
  • Formal culinary training or equivalent professional experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Private Chef and in high-end private hospitality
  • Calm, humble, and discreet, with a genuine appreciation for private service
  • Highly organized, proactive, and an excellent communicator
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, with a willingness to relocate
