Position: Medicare Medicaid Collections Specialist - Contract

Location: Remote (U.S. Remote – candidates must reside in an eligible state)

Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible start time as early as 7:30 AM)

Position Overview

Addison Group is hiring for our client, a leading healthcare organization, seeking experienced Medicare and Medicaid Collections Specialists to join its hospital revenue cycle team. These positions focus on resolving complex government insurance claims for inpatient rehabilitation facilities while ensuring timely reimbursement and accurate claim resolution.

The ideal candidates will have strong hospital collections experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to independently research and resolve challenging claim issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Medicare or Medicaid hospital accounts receivable
  • Research and resolve denied, underpaid, and outstanding insurance claims
  • Analyze claim issues and determine the appropriate resolution strategy
  • Submit corrected claims and appeals as needed
  • Review reimbursement details and identify billing discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate documentation of account activity and claim resolution
  • Work primarily through payer portals and billing systems, with minimal outbound calling
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to resolve complex reimbursement issues
  • Meet daily productivity and quality expectations

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hospital-based Medicare or Medicaid collections experience
  • Experience working with hospital claims (physician billing experience alone is not sufficient)
  • Strong understanding of government payer billing and reimbursement guidelines
  • Ability to independently analyze claims and determine the appropriate resolution
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Stable employment history demonstrating reliability and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) billing or collections
  • Familiarity with WellSky, Waystar, or similar healthcare revenue cycle platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement processes
