Start Date: ASAP
Bill Rate: $23-$24
Assignment Length: 4-8 Weeks
** Will work on-site at Torrid HQ 5 days a week (M-F). **
The TD assistant supports the team in the technical product development process and ensures the consistency of fit, construction and quality in the assigned product categories. They are responsible for the daily sample logging, measuring, and organizing. The assistant also provides administrative support to the Technical Design Team.
What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for fit, construction, quality, and consistency of assigned product category from development to production, including:
  • Measure and prep garments, review construction, attend fit sessions and prepare fit session notes.
  • Organizing block/fit database and fit samples
  • Logging samples into fit log and working with PD to track samples.
  • Reviewing apparel construction and quality standards of samples when prepping for fit
  • Reviewing Torrid grade and tolerance standards, when prepping fit comments
  • Assisting in TD communication with vendors/factories.
  • Coordinate, compile & distribute wear tests and results.
  • Adhere to the department standards and best practices for product fit and process compliance.
  • Provides daily support for the technical team as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

What You'll Need:
  • Basic understanding of fit, balance, and garment construction, fabrics, and fabric performance
  • Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
  • Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
  • Ability to build strong business partnerships both internally and externally and demonstrate adaptability and flexibility as business strategies change.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical skills, well organized and detailed.
  • 4-year college degree, fashion degree, or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Previous technical design experience is desirable.
  • Previous retail or garment manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift/move up to 10 pounds. May lift/move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
