DESCRIPTION
UC San Diego's Temporary Employment Services department is pleased to announce a new long-term temporary opportunity for a Data Analyst supporting a collaborative, data-driven administrative team within the university environment.This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who enjoy working with complex data systems, maintaining data integrity, and supporting organizational operations through accurate record management and reporting support.Under general supervision, the Data Analyst will assist with the maintenance, review, and processing of constituent and organizational data across multiple database systems and platforms.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Assisting with the review, monitoring, and implementation of data control and quality assurance reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of records.
• Supporting daily database operations, including updating constituent records, entering and maintaining demographic and biographical information, creating and maintaining attributes, processing deceased records, merging duplicate records, establishing relationships, and documenting completed work through an internal ticketing system.
• Providing backup support for data imports and record updates from various university systems into a centralized constituent database through manual entry processes and mass data upload tools.
• Assisting with testing, validating, importing, and maintaining data received from internal university departments and external data sources.
• Supporting ongoing database maintenance initiatives and collaborating with team members to troubleshoot data discrepancies and improve data management processes.
• Helping ensure compliance with established data standards, procedures, and best practices related to record accuracy and database management.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with databases, CRM platforms, data imports, reporting tools, or large data sets is highly preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams are also important for success in this role.
Additional Position Details:
  • Anticipated duration: 24 months
  • Compensation: $26.53 - $31.13 / hour, including paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.
  • Location: Hybrid / remote work arrangement. Fully-remote work arrangement available. Required to be on-site for team meetings. On-site work will be near UC San Diego's main campus in La Jolla.
  • Work schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated experience in updating and utilizing a mission critical database to enter, maintain, or to relay information in comprehensive manner.
  • Experience in use of a fundraising/donor database preferred (Blackbaud CRM or other Blackbaud products).
  • Proficiency in adapting computer software programs to meet office needs.
  • Proficient in the use of software applications necessary in administrative work, including database to retrieve current and historical information to compile reports and briefings, spreadsheets, and graphics programs and the ability to implement new systems to increase productivity
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and preferably, Blackbaud CRM or other Blackbaud products.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and oral skills with the ability to interact in a positive manner with diverse and demanding clientele, including major gift prospects, donors, volunteers, prominent social, business, and governmental figures, and campus administrators, using a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and discretion, with emphasis of flexibility and professionalism.
