NEXCOM Computer-Aided Design Draftsperson

This is a hybrid role

We are seeking a Computer-Aided Design Draftsperson (CAD) for our Next Generation Air/Ground Communications (NEXCOM)program to create and revise technical and architectural drawings that support the design and implementation of new Air-to-Ground radio equipment at more than a thousand FAA air traffic control centers across the United States. This role is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining engineering drawings using CAD software and manual drafting methods in accordance with applicable FAA orders and standards, providing design support for facility engineering documentation and as-built drawings. The candidate will ensure all drawings meet established technical, formatting, and documentation standards, including compliance with FAA Order 6000.55 and FAA-STD-002.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, advanced CAD proficiency, and familiarity with engineering and architectural documentation standards.

Required Qualifications

5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD; 7 years with an AS degree; 9 years in lieu of degree.

Experience: Experience developing technical drawings using CAD tools in engineering, architecture, telecommunications, or infrastructure environments.

Strong proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)

Experience with 3D modeling and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools

Ability to produce precise technical drawings and identify discrepancies or errors in engineering documentation. Familiarity with engineering, architectural, or manufacturing terminology, symbols, and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting FAA or other federal infrastructure programs.

Knowledge of facility engineering documentation and as-built drawing standards. Professional certifications such as:

Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA)

Experience working with engineering teams supporting telecommunications, facilities, or infrastructure deployments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $46.00/hr.
