Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring a CNC Machine Operator for a manufacturing plant in Houston, TX. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $22–$27/hr depending on experience. In this role, you will operate CNC production equipment, adjust machine settings, and read engineering drawings to machine parts to spec. This is a long-term placement with a direct path to joining the production team full-time.


Pay: $22–$27/hr

Schedule: Monday to Friday 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM

Location: Houston, TX

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Work Environment: Manufacturing Plant / Factory


Responsibilities

  • Operate one or more CNC machines to produce parts according to job specifications and work orders.
  • Select and adjust machine settings to maintain output quality and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and routers to set up and run jobs correctly.
  • Use hand-held measuring tools to verify part dimensions and document inspection results.
  • Monitor machines during production and identify any issues that affect quality or safety.
  • Follow established quality and safety standards throughout the shift.


Minimum Requirements

  • 1+ year of CNC machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating multiple types of CNC equipment (mills, lathes, turning centers).
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) on engineering drawings.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Background in rotor, motor, or rotating equipment manufacturing.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations for machining setups.
  • Experience working in a high-volume or high-mix production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
