Job description

Position Summary
Burke is seeking a detail-oriented, organized Part-Time Temporary Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day accounting activities for two business entities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, and supporting month-end close activities while working closely the Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Process and maintain daily accounting transactions for two business entities.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
  • Monitor and maintain fixed asset records.
  • Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Process vendor invoices and prepare payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Generate customer invoices and apply incoming payments.
  • Follow up on outstanding customer balances as needed.
  • Assist with customer credit applications and vendor setup.

Other Responsibilities
  • Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.
  • Assist with special accounting projects as assigned.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Experience and proficiency with QuickBooks
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
