Job description

Amazon Leo is building a Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation to deliver high speed, low latency broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. As part of Payload Integration and Test, this role is focused on hands on integration, validation, troubleshooting, and qualification of end to end satellite communications systems across space, ground, RF, modem, RAN, Core, transport, and cloud infrastructure. The work is lab centered and system focused.

The role is not a software development position, but the ability to use Linux, Python, protocol traces, packet captures, and automation to debug complex systems is highly valuable.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident that is a current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted into the U.S

as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
This role owns the network integration path between Open RAN, 5G Core, IMS, transport, lab infrastructure, and satellite payload test systems. The candidate should be able to debug across CU, DU, RU, gNodeB, Core, routing, switching, tunnels, packet captures, and lab hardware without needing the problem to be pre isolated by another team.
Key Job Responsibilities
Integrate and validate end to end network connectivity across Open RAN, gNodeB, 5G Core, IMS, transport, and LEO satellite test systems.
Validate 3GPP Release 17 NTN behaviors from a network integration perspective, including attach, registration, bearer setup, user plane, mobility, and service continuity.
Integrate and test Open RAN architecture components including CU, DU, RU, F1, E1, Xn, and gNodeB connectivity into lab and payload environments.
Validate VoNR and IMS call flows, including registration, SIP signaling, media path, QoS, emergency call behavior where applicable, and failure recovery.
Troubleshoot NGC, NGU, NGAP, GTP U, SCTP, PFCP, VLANs, routing, MPLS, Segment Routing, QoS, MTU, timing, and user plane performance issues.
Build and execute integration, regression, interoperability, failover, resiliency, and performance test plans for lab and HIL environments.
Use packet captures, protocol logs, Linux tools, telemetry, and system traces to drive root cause across RF, RAN, Core, payload, transport, and cloud teams.
Partner with RF, modem, payload, Core, RAN, software, and systems teams to define pass fail criteria and drive issues from ambiguous system behavior to clear resolver ownership.
Support readiness reviews, test reports, and operational handoff for production bound satellite terrestrial network capabilities.
