Overview:
We're seeking a Senior Programming Manager, Content Merchandising, to join our Pluto TV Programming team. This role will shape our editorial voice, programming quality, and user experience, driving viewership and monetization. The Senior Programming Manager will attract, engage, and retain audiences across a diverse slate of TV series and films.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on TV, film, and digital content, applying industry knowledge to inform programming and editorial decisions.
  • Lead and manage programming staff, workflows, and meetings to ensure alignment, execution, and accountability.
  • Oversee scheduling and merchandising strategies, partnering with BI and Data Science to optimize discovery, personalization, and recommendations.
  • Develop and refine programming plans (daily & long-term), using insights and testing to improve engagement and outcomes.
  • Manage and track the content pipeline and availability windows, while leveraging internal tools and systems to support planning, curation, and scalable workflows.
  • Support content selection and prioritization processes to align programming decisions with audience goals and performance targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Product, Marketing, Promotions, Content Ops, and Partnerships) to optimize content performance; research and evaluate new content opportunities while contributing to process improvements and best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in programming or merchandising within digital or traditional media environments
  • Deep knowledge of CMS platforms and a deep aptitude for learning and optimizing new tools and technologies
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines individually
Additional Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Airtable or other project management tools
  • Proactive, tech-savvy mindset with a focus on improving systems, workflows, and processes
  • Solid cross-functional collaborator with the ability to solve complex problems
  • Extensive knowledge of and passion for pop culture, including TV, film, and digital video
  • Exemplary research skills and remarkable attention to detail
  • Familiarity with metadata best practices and copywriting for content discovery and engagement

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $86,000.00 - 128,000.00. 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
