Assistant Director:
Weigel Productions is seeking an intellectually curious, strong communicator, and hardworking Assistant Director to join its creative team in our Chicago West Loop studios.
About the Role
• Work directly with Weigel's Creative team, Director and Production team to execute all show related elements
• Assist in creation of multiple productions
• Focus on overall show direction and production, applying technical expertise to creative vision
• Apply strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
What You'll Do
• Provide support and fill in across key production roles during tapings, including Director/TD, camera operation, audio, and floor direction
• Assist with daily production needs and deliver on site support during field shoots
• Communicate clearly and proactively with cross functional teams
• Perform additional duties as assigned
What You'll Need
• 5-7 years of experience in a video production leadership role within broadcast, digital, or cable environments (required)
• Prior directing experience (preferred)
• Experience with studio videography, lighting, audio production, vMix streaming software, and Ross Xpression Graphics (preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail with proven time management abilities
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on production demands
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
