Job description

Position Summary:

The Daytime Television Editor / Associate Producer supports the production of Turning Point's Daytime Television program by preparing and organizing production assets, creating on-screen graphics, editing and mastering broadcast content, creating custom versions for networks and strategic markets, and ensuring programming meets ministry and broadcast quality standards. Reporting directly to the Senior Television Producer / Editor, this role contributes throughout the production process, from pre-production through final delivery, while maintaining technical excellence, creative consistency, and timely execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with and assists the Senior Television Producer / Editor with pre-production tasks for the daily Turning Point Daytime Television Program
  • Prepare Daytime Television Program Assets for Editorial
  • Gather and/or prepare program logs, sermon transcripts, and other materials
  • Create projects and ensure proper settings
  • Digitize/Import and organize audio and video media assets within projects (e.g., Music, VOs, Graphics, Short-Form Opens/Spots, etc.)
  • Gather and/or create pre-production documentation
  • Edit and Master Messages (Sermons) for TV Programs
  • Edit message content using marked-up transcripts and preaching notes
  • Create and/or version on-screen graphics for advertising and sermon support

    • Special Illustrations
  • Perform color correction and adjust skin detail in a manner consistent with Turning Point broadcast standards
  • Perform Broadcast Versioning - customize 27:30, 28:30 Daytime TV broadcasts from the US30D Master for specific markets and networks within the United States
  • Perform Quality Control and Proofing Procedures for Daytime TV Programming and Special Programming
  • Collaborate with and assist the Senior Producer / Director of Turning Point Weekend Television, as needed

Miscellaneous Production Activities (Including but not limited to)

  • Assist with studio and location shoots/events
  • Camera setup and operation
  • Dolly setup and operation
  • Assist with Television and Digital Program Distribution
  • Assist with Media Asset Management

  • MUST have a personal desire and drive to produce exceptional video content on a deadline
  • MUST be an independent self-starter who embraces effective teamwork
  • MUST be an organized, detail-oriented, and highly productive person
  • Able to receive constructive criticism and direction
  • Has a foundational knowledge of the production process and technical equipment
  • Proficiency with video editing software (Avid MC, Resolve, Adobe CC, etc.)
  • Proficiency with graphic design software (Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, etc.)
  • Desire to learn new software and new ways of working (Cinema 4D)
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software applications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/push/pull equipment weighing 50 lbs.

  • The expected salary for this position is $27 to $32 an hour. The actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and location. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package.
