Job description

An Equal Opportunity Employer Nature of Work This is responsible administrative work responsible for the schedules and timesheets of sworn police personnel. Work involves performing routine administrative duties in accordance with established guidelines or procedures under the general supervision of an administrative superior. An employee in this classification ensures minimum levels of police officers (population ratio) are met at each shift by staffing each shift appropriately, edits timesheets, schedules training and court appearances, and approves time-off requests for patrol units.

Work is assigned by an immediate supervisor and through directives through the chain of command. Essential Functions Inputs and edits, as necessary, time sheets of Patrol Officers into the KRONOS timekeeping system Schedules mandatory trainings and court appearances for Officers via staffing system Approves time-off requests for patrol unit officers Processes other personnel actions including, but not limited to: light duty transfers, family and/or medical leave, military leave, and pay supplements Supports management efforts to reduce overtime and create scheduling efficiencies through overtime trend analysis Prepares and executes daily and monthly reporting to ensure department staffing and scheduling within law enforcement and human resources guidelines Collects, compiles, analyzes, and reports information related to the staffing and logistics of the department including, but not limited to: staffing availability trends, time tracking, overtime, monthly assignment transfers and quarterly assignment bids Performs other related work as required. Minimum Requirements A minimum of 60 college credits and two (2) years experience in operations analysis or personnel staffing logistics.

OR Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond a high school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of the required experience.
