Job Type: Fulltime, Nonexempt
Schedule: 3-12's, Weekends Friday, Saturday, Sunday's, 7am - 7pm
  • Non patient-facing administrative role in an office setting; responsible for answering phones, managing fax communications, and processing referrals
  • No involvement in admission processes or patient intake decisions
  • Supports referral intake workflow, ensuring accurate and timely coordination of incoming referrals

How you'll contribute
The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) Intake Coordinator provides high-quality, cost-effective nursing care while coordinating behavioral health intakes, assessments, and admissions during first shift. Serving as the primary liaison for patients, families, physicians, referral sources, and internal teams, this role conducts comprehensive ED and inpatient assessments, verifies insurance and prior authorizations, obtains admission orders, and facilitates timely placement while maintaining excellent customer service. The RN Intake Coordinator advocates for patients' physical and emotional well-being, supports family communication, participates in care conferences and continued stay reviews, maintains referral tracking and capacity management tools, and collaborates with nursing leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and quality outcomes. This role also supports community outreach, provides unit leadership and education, and delivers age-appropriate care across populations in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.

What we're looking for

  • Associate's Degree Nursing (ADN) Required
    • Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • Current RN state license to practice
  • Basic Life Support certification is required
