Through our DoD SkillBridge Program, we provide a unique opportunity for military personnel in their final months of service to gain hands-on experience in a civilian work environment while exploring meaningful career paths in the healthcare industry.

By joining Blue Cross NC's SkillBridge Program, service members can deploy their leadership, problem-solving skills, and mission-driven mindset in a civilian setting. This internship provides a bridge between military service and a meaningful career in healthcare, allowing participants to continue their tradition of service-this time, by helping make healthcare better for all.

**This program is open to only active military service members.**
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Applicants must be active-duty service members within their last 180 days of service at the time of internship start.
  • Participants must receive approval from their commanding officer and service branch to engage in SkillBridge. Blue Cross NC does not determine eligibility for participation.
  • A minimum of 12 weeks of commitment is required for internship placement at Blue Cross NC.
  • Candidates must have a clear end-of-service date that aligns with the internship timeline.

Internship Placement & Selection:
  • Internship placement is not guaranteed and is based on available learning/training opportunities and the alignment of the service member's skills and interests with organizational needs.
  • Selected candidates will undergo a formal interview process to determine fit for available roles.
  • Internships are unpaid and intended for training purposes only, with no guarantee of post-program employment.
  • Participation is contingent upon approval from the service member's commanding officer and is not determined by Blue Cross NC.
  • Interns can work remotely from any of the 50 U.S. states; however, at this time, we cannot accommodate U.S. territories. Note: To be eligible for full-time employment at Blue Cross NC, individuals must reside and work in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.

Salary Range
