Job description

Description
Position Summary
The position is primarily responsible for the installation, service, and repair of sensing and monitoring systems, positioning and tracking systems as well as wireless communication systems on customer and company assets.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities :
  • Install, configure, and calibrate onboard electronic and connectivity systems, and related technologies
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met
  • Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner
  • Adhere to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in shop area
  • Stays up to date on current and new related technology systems/designs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Occasional/Other Responsibilities :
  • As assigned, prepare accurate estimates for customer installations and repairs
  • As assigned order parts and organizing the parts warehouse
  • Assist with training technicians, sales personnel, and customers on technologies

Supervisory Responsibilities :
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities

Position Requirements
Required :
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years or more experience installing vehicle camera systems or similar electronic devices

Preferred :
  • Technical certification in electronics or vehicle technology

  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and listening skills.

  • Strong computer skills experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to learn Caterpillar and MacAllister systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective customer and professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship-building and consistent demonstration of solid professional judgment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environment.

Other Requirements of Position
  • Works under close supervision. Employee may act independently for reoccurring assignments, but supervision is readily available for unfamiliar situations or problems.
  • Major responsibilities typically require a modest amount of creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates under general instructions with some established procedures and policies.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies to avoid waste, prevent accidents, and damage to areas and equipment.
