Join our dynamic technology team as a Principal Business Systems Analyst, where you will bridge the gap between large-scale mainframe system architecture, storage, application development, finance, and IT leadership. In this role, you will analyze physical and logical z Platform environments, manage complex processing requirements, and translate system data into actionable financial results. Using enterprise-approved AI tools and modern analytical methods, you will design and deploy innovative solutions to automate tasks, streamline technical workflows, and support critical business processes. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with emphasis on responsible use of AI
  • Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement
  • Evaluate emerging trends to inform solution design and strategic innovation
  • Successfully communicate and collaborate with z System Technical, Storage, and Application teams, as well as Finance, Procurement, and IT Leadership
  • Analyze and report on physical and logical z Platform environments, tracking processors, DASD, and processing patterns to translate technical requirements into financial chargeback results
  • Provide financial data needed for Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBAs), Proof of Concepts (POCs), and Charge Back reporting
  • Validate system billing reports (including IBM, Broadcom, CA, and BMC) and perform thorough SCRT processing checks to identify and resolve anomalies
  • Develop and manage z System APIs with a deep understanding of mainframe Db2 database structures and interactions with CICS and ODM
  • Maintain distributed computing elements including ASPNet applications and support PLM processes on x86 servers
  • Drive software inventory reporting, TADz answers, security platform compliance (RACF), and decommission reports for applications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (equivalent to 4 additional years of technology experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 15+ years of experience working in a large-scale (90,000+ MIPS) mainframe environment
  • 15+ years of experience with z Platform systems, including physical processing environment, DASD, logical components (CPUs, LPAR definitions, APIs), and CICS/Db2/OS system components
  • 15+ years of experience with mainframe storage processing, billing processes (IBM, Broadcom, CA, or BMC), and SCRT reporting/analysis
  • 15+ years of experience with mainframe technical tools, including TADz, Mainframe SAS, JCL, TSO, OPC/TWS, and Db2 programming/internals
  • Demonstrated proficiency using AI productivity tools, large language models (LLMs), or digital assistants (such as Microsoft 365 Copilot) to analyze data, draft communications, and summarize technical meetings
  • Experience with distributed computing, including maintaining ASPNet applications and supporting PLM processes on x86 servers

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in a 90,000+ MIPS environment working with large enterprise processor configurations and DASD processing patterns
  • Experience developing z System APIs with a thorough understanding of Db2 table structures and interactions with CICS and ODM
  • Experience supporting z Platform dashboards and the centralization of technical data efforts
  • Deep expertise in enterprise mainframe chargeback processes, including modifying automation based on SMF data requirements and managing proprietary or internal Charge Back databases
  • Knowledge of software configuration management, specifically utilizing Endevor processes
  • Proven ability to translate technical z Platform requirements into actionable financial results and perform data validation prior to submission to Finance

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
