Cal-Ore Telecommunications is a locally owned and operated telecommunications provider serving rural communities in Northern California and Southern Oregon. We deliver reliable voice, broadband, transport, and wireless services with a strong focus on customer service, network reliability, and community commitment. Our team works hands-on with modern telecom and network infrastructure to keep our customers connected.

Position Summary

Cal-Ore Telecommunications is seeking an experienced, network-focused Network Support Technician to support customer-facing network services. This role is responsible for provisioning, troubleshooting, and supporting customer facing equipment including routers, ONTs, and fixed wireless devices, while providing clear, professional communication to customers and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer-facing technical support for internet, transport, and fixed wireless services
  • Provision, configure, and troubleshoot customer equipment including routers, ONTs, and wireless radios
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and service issues
  • Work directly with customers to gather information and communicate solutions clearly
  • Support service turn-ups, changes, and migrations
  • Participate in outage response and service restoration efforts
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer services and troubleshooting actions
  • Participate in on-call rotation and work overtime as required


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in network support, ISP, or telecommunications environments
  • Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, DHCP, DNS)
  • Hands-on experience with customer network equipment (routers, ONTs, fixed wireless)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to work primarily on-site in Dorris, CA
  • Valid driver's license


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for an ISP or telecommunications provider
  • Familiarity with fixed wireless access technologies
  • Hand-on experience with network troubleshooting tools (e.g. Wireshark)
  • Experience with network monitoring and ticketing systems
  • Relevant certifications (Network+, CCNA, or similar)
  • Experience administering Linux and Windows systems
  • Experience with various programming/scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, PHP, etc.)


Working Conditions

This position is primarily on-site at the Dorris, CA office. Hybrid or remote work may be used as necessary but is not the primary work arrangement. Participation in on-call rotation and overtime is required.
