Description


Overview Seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler experienced in building and wiring RF modules, cable harnesses, and RF assemblies. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to FOD and ESD controls, and the ability to follow technical documentation in a high-reliability production environment.


Key Responsibilities

Assemble mechanical/electromechanical components, chassis, and RF modules per drawings, schematics, and work instructions.

Build and route RF cable assemblies (SMA, N-type, semi-rigid coax) with proper torque, bend radius, and strain relief.

Perform crimping, soldering, heat-shrink, and wiring to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 standards.

Conduct continuity checks, visual inspection, and basic RF verification under guidance.

Complete travelers, BOM steps, and build documentation accurately.

Maintain FOD-free and ESD-controlled work practices.

Report nonconformances, support rework, and follow standardized processes.


Preferred Qualifications

IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 certification (current or previous).

Experience with aerospace/defense or telecom RF products; knowledge of MIL-spec connectors.

Understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and quality processes.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 30-40 lbs; perform fine assembly under magnification.

Work in ESD areas; use chemicals/adhesives with PPE as required.

Education

High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate preferred.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years mechanical/electromechanical assembly with RF wiring or high-reliability cable builds, or similar types of hardware.

Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and build instructions.

Proficiency with torque tools, crimpers, etc.

Experience in FOD/ESD-controlled environments.

Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail; able to complete precision assembly work.
