Job description

Must have: Telecom background only, RF Signal, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Installation and Configuration.
Accountabilities:
  • Installation and configuration, installing and configuring network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) and radio communications hardware (base stations, antennas, DAS) at designated sites.
  • RF signal optimization, performing site surveys, adjusting antenna alignment and radio signal power levels to achieve desired coverage and quality.
  • Network testing and troubleshooting, conducting network performance tests, identifying, and resolving any connectivity issues or radio signal interference.
  • Protocol configuration, setting up network protocols (IP addressing, routing protocols) and radio protocols (LMR and wideband).
  • Documentation and reporting, creating checklists and reports including system configuration, test results and any identified issues.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of medium/complex network and radio deployment.
  • Expertise in RF Engineering including radio transmission principles, antenna design, RF propagation and signal measurements.
  • Excellent ability to use test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and a spectrum analyzer.
  • Working knowledge of Test and commissioning processes.
  • Skilled in handling electric, electronic, and mechanical drawings and schematics.
