Job description

As an Electrical Engineer in our Facilities Engineering and Design service business, you will be working on electrical designs and many times with a team of mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, and fire protection engineers to develop construction drawings for a large variety of clients and project types. You will also be communicating and coordinating with architectural firms and other engineering disciplines as needed to integrate electrical systems into buildings, roadways, site developments, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and draw power, fire alarm, lighting, telecom, and security plans for commercial, institutional, higher education, governmental, and retail buildings using AutoCAD and REVIT software.
  • Complete analyses of electrical distribution systems, electrical load calculations, photometric calculations for lighting systems, and detailing of building specialty systems.
  • Perform building code reviews and energy code compliance calculations.
  • Conduct site surveys and construction observations consisting of taking photos and measurements, assessing electrical equipment, and reviewing electrical construction for compliance with contract documents.

Requirements:

  • Candidate shall possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or technology from an EAC/ABET certified program.
  • Candidate meets the criteria for taking the FE exam to obtain EIT certification within one year of hire.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
  • 1-3 years' experience with knowledge of common power systems
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of tools
