The Quality Auditor is responsible for inspecting products and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with customer specifications, company standards, and quality management systems. A Day In The Life
- Perform in-process and final inspections on manufactured products.
- Conduct first-piece, last-piece, and hourly quality inspections according to work instructions.
- Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
- Identify and document product defects, dimensional issues, and cosmetic defects.
- Complete inspection records, quality checklists, and electronic documentation accurately.
- Perform dock audits and verify products meet customer requirements before shipment.
- Place nonconforming material on hold and initiate appropriate quality documentation.
- Communicate quality concerns to production supervisors, engineers, and operators.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with SOPs, work instructions, and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Assist with Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Ensure calibration status of inspection equipment before use.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical training preferred.
- 1-3 years of manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of GD&T is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems preferred.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
