Position Overview The NICU Manager ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through leadership, oversight of daily unit operations, and management of staffing. This role monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. You will promote evidence-based practices, operational efficiency, and a culture of accountability to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily NICU operations, staffing, and patient care delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and accreditation requirements.
  • Support clinical standardization and evidence-based practices to improve outcomes and efficiency.
  • Manage admissions, discharges, and patient throughput to ensure smooth unit operations.
  • Facilitate effective interdisciplinary care coordination across departments.
  • Provide leadership to ensure a positive patient and family experience, promoting accountability and high-quality interactions.
  • Review feedback mechanisms to identify opportunities for improving patient satisfaction.
  • Identify staff development needs, provide mentoring, and support ongoing education and training.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • BSN required
  • Minimum 35+ years of healthcare experience
  • Minimum 2+ years in a supervisory role in an acute care setting
  • Specialty Certification required within 6 months of hire
  • Current RN license in Texas (or active compact license with TX RN license obtained within 6 months)
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • NRP, FHM, and RNC-OB preferred
  • Experience managing high-acuity neonatal patients in a Level 3 NICU

Shift & Schedule

  • Full-Time | Days (No Weekends)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Maximum Compensation: $150,000/year
  • Relocation Assistance: Case by Case
