Description
The Interim Teen & Adult Inclusion Support Coordinator plays a key role in creating meaningful, inclusive opportunities for teens and adults with disabilities through the YMCA's Integration Initiative. Working closely with the Senior Director of Inclusion, this position provides program leadership, participant support, staff coaching, and operational assistance to ensure high-quality, person-centered programming and successful inclusion across YMCA programs and activities.
This position is ideal for an organized, compassionate, and adaptable professional who enjoys working directly with participants, collaborating with families and staff, and helping programs thrive. The schedule is primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends to meet program needs.
This is an interim position created to provide coverage during an employee leave of absence. The position is expected to continue until the employee returns to work; however, the duration of the assignment is subject to change based on business needs and the employee's return-to-work status.
Essential Functions
  • Report directly to the Senior Director of Inclusion and provide temporary support for Teen and Adult programming within the Integration Initiative.
  • Serve as a point of contact for participants, families, staff, and community partners regarding Teen and Adult Inclusion programs.
  • Assist with participant enrollment, intake, assessment, and individualized support planning in collaboration with the Senior Director of Inclusion.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Inclusion to coordinate staffing schedules for part-time Inclusion Support Staff and co-instructors.
  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Teen and Adult programs, events, and activities.
  • Support participants by identifying and implementing accommodations and strategies that promote successful engagement, participation, and independence.
  • Provide direct participant support, intervention, modeling, and staff consultation to promote participant success, inclusion, and safety.
  • Develop and implement individualized support tools, including visual schedules, social narratives, cue cards, communication supports, and behavior support strategies, as appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships with participants and their families while fostering skill development, independence, social connection, and meaningful engagement.
  • Assist with staff training and coaching related to disability awareness, inclusive practices, accommodations, behavior support, and participant engagement.
  • Maintain participant records, program documentation, incident reports, and other required administrative records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor program environments and proactively address safety concerns affecting participants, staff, volunteers, or program operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families is required, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and provide support to participants and caregivers. Education in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in recreational, educational, community-based, or human services settings preferred.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of disabilities and evidence-based accommodations, modifications, and support strategies used in inclusive recreational environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities in the most integrated and inclusive setting possible.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and support staff in implementing inclusive practices, accommodations, and positive behavior support strategies.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain participant records and documentation while exercising sound judgment and maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with databases and reporting systems preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
