Job description

Trading Floor IT Support Analyst Houston, TX | Hybrid, 2 to 3 days onsite per week | Contract $50 to $54 per hour
We're hiring a Trading Floor IT Support Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity in Houston. The initial term is 6 months with strong potential to extend well beyond a year based on performance and ongoing business need.
This is a hands-on role embedded with a high-performing trading environment. You'll be the go-to local resource for trading floor users who need fast, accurate support to keep business-critical systems running.
What you'll do
  • Provide first-level floor support across Windows OS, PC hardware, networking, M365, Exchange, and Active Directory
  • Troubleshoot trading-specific applications, external information services, and online trading platforms
  • Partner with the global service desk, application teams, and external vendors to resolve issues that escalate beyond floor-level support
  • Mentor and onboard new permanent and contract staff at the local site
  • Support software and hardware rollouts, annual business continuity testing, and ongoing process improvements
  • Apply security, compliance, and equipment processes consistently
  • Build strong working relationships with business users and IT stakeholders

What we're looking for
  • Recent, hands-on IT floor support or desktop support experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, PC hardware, networking, M365, Exchange, and Active Directory
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications, ideally in trading, financial services, or another high-pressure environment
  • Confident communicator who can work directly with demanding business users
  • Comfortable troubleshooting urgent issues onsite and coordinating across internal teams and outside vendors
  • Some scripting, automation, or light app/tool development experience is a plus
  • Oil and gas or trading and supply industry experience is a strong differentiator

What won't work for this role
  • Helpdesk-only or fully remote support backgrounds with no onsite or floor exposure
  • No recent hands-on experience with Windows, M365, Exchange, AD, PC hardware, or networking
  • Pure developer or pure infrastructure profiles with no end-user support work
  • Remote-only expectations, as this role requires consistent onsite presence

Compensation $50 to $54 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Important notes
  • We are unable to engage with third-party vendors or agencies for this role
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
  • No C2C or corp-to-corp arrangements. W2 only.
