Amazon's Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team ensures that our global fulfillment and operations networks run safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Sr. Manager, Technical Program Manager to drive significantly complex cross-functional technology initiatives. This pivotal role will operate in environments where business and program architecture may not be defined, driving clarity and delivering results. A successful candidate will effectively force multiply across teams, identify risks and opportunities in technical strategies and architecture, and align organizations toward simple, coherent approaches through cross-org structures and mechanisms. We are looking for a leader who likes to solve problems and remove obstacles. If you enjoy leading cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, program managers, and product managers, and you are skilled at organizing, driving, and communicating laterally and upwards, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity to work alongside talented teams solving complex problems.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and oversee significantly complex, cross-functional technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and operational strategies
- Design, implement, and maintain robust operations processes, tools, and frameworks to drive efficiency and scalability
- Drive product innovation and technology program deployment leadership across the organization, incorporating emerging technologies and best practices into strategic roadmaps
- Collaborate with senior leadership, engineering teams, and stakeholders to identify gaps, prioritize initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in tech products and services
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive strategic decision-making, providing actionable insights, regular executive-level reporting, and guidance in addressing outcomes from KPI analysis
- Stay abreast of emerging infrastructure trends and industry best practices, incorporating this knowledge into strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3-6 Technical and Non-Technical Program Managers, fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Manage relationships with cross-organizational tech and non-tech partners, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of people management experience
- 7+ years of technical program management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams, including operations
- Experience leading technical initiatives and key deliverables
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical or quantitative field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Experience with agile or other program management methodologies
- Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
- Knowledge of data analytics with tools such as Tableau, SQL, Quick-sight
- Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
- Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
- PMP certificate
- Demonstrated ability working in ambiguous environments where business and program architecture may not be defined
- Experience identifying risks and opportunities in technical strategies, architecture, and engineering organization structures
- Proven ability to manage escalations and make strategic trade-offs between business opportunity, resources, and sustainability

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
