AlgaeCal

Job description

Efficiency Addict: You know that little rush you get when you replace a 15-step manual process with one automated workflow? Or when you finally figure out why Salesforce isn't behaving? Or when you connect two systems that should have been talking to each other all along?

If that feeling never gets old AND and you're looking for a place where you can make that kind of impact, then keep reading!

AlgaeCal is on the hunt for an IT Administrator who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and keep our tech systems running smoothly.

Small print here ⇒ We need someone with experience in IT management and a passion for problem-solving. So if you don’t love tech like Steve Jobs loved turtlenecks, you might want to stop here.

Still here? Great…

This job will give you ALL the feels:

At AlgaeCal, we’re driven by a single idea. To end the fear of bone loss. In the United States, an estimated 54 million people have low bone density.

The good news? AlgaeCal has the world’s only clinically-backed natural solution to this problem. We give hope to everyone worried about bone loss. If that excites you, you’ll find no better place to continue your career than at AlgaeCal.

Here’s what you’ll be up to in this busy role:

  • Slack, Jira & Confluence: You’ll build and support workflows and automations across the tools our teams use every day. If there’s a repetitive process that can be streamlined, you’ll probably be the person who figures out how.
  • Google Workspace: You’ll own the day-to-day administration of Google Workspace. From user accounts and permissions to troubleshooting issues and keeping everything secure and running smoothly.
  • Security & Compliance: You’ll help protect AlgaeCal by supporting security training, risk assessments, compliance controls, and internal and external audits across frameworks like SOC 2, PCI, and HIPAA.
  • Hardware & Software: You’ll be the go-to person when technology decides not to cooperate. Computers, routers, A/V equipment, software, inventory—you’ll troubleshoot problems, keep everything organized, and make sure our team has the tools they need to get their work done.
  • Salesforce: You’ll help keep our Salesforce ecosystem humming. Supporting requests from internal teams, troubleshooting and improving flows, and spotting opportunities to make the system cleaner, smarter, and easier to use.
  • ERP Systems: You’ll play a hands-on role in implementing and improving our ERP system. That means helping design workflows, building automations, troubleshooting issues, and making sure the system actually makes people’s jobs easier.

This job might be for you if you’ve got…

  • A resume that proves you know your way around business systems: We want to see 1+ years of hands-on experience managing Salesforce or a similar CRM, plus workflows and automations across tools like Slack, Jira, or Confluence.
  • A solid security and compliance foundation: SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, risk assessments, controls, audits. You don’t need to know everything, but this language shouldn’t make your eyes glaze over.
  • An encyclopedic knowledge of everyday tech: Computers, routers, A/V equipment, software. You’re comfortable troubleshooting the stuff that keeps an office running.
  • ERP experience: You’ve helped implement, build, or support an ERP system and understand how to turn real business processes into workflows that actually work.
  • Top-notch problem-solving skills: When Salesforce breaks, an automation goes rogue, or someone’s laptop decides Monday morning is a great time to quit, you’re the person people want in the room.
  • Bonus points for certifications: Salesforce Administrator or another relevant IT certification will definitely get our attention.

Now, time to be honest: is this really you? If you’re nodding your head and feeling that flutter of excitement, then we can’t wait to meet you.

Other Qualities You’ll Need

At AlgaeCal we’re going to insist that you have these 3 qualities:

  • You’re humble--you put the team and others’ needs ahead of your own
  • You’re hungry to learn more
  • You’re people smart--in the sense that you’re a great teammate

The truth is, if you don’t have these qualities you won’t last long at AlgaeCal. So if you’re missing one of them, be honest. Save yourself a lot of headaches and skip to a job posting that is a better fit for you.

What Will You Earn?

We believe in rewarding top talent. So let’s talk about salary once we’ve had the chance to get to know you better. Rest assured, we’re generous and offer above-market pay for the right person. If you bring the skills and experience, we’ll make sure the compensation reflects that.

You’ll also enjoy the following benefits:

  • A generous healthcare package
  • Monthly team events and activities
  • Flexible Stat Holidays with the option to bank days for later use
  • Weekly team lunches
  • Casual dress code
  • Incredible dog friendly, Yaletown office one block from SkyTrain

And above all, you’ll join a team that you’ll never want to leave. Culture is everything to us. Yes, we work extremely hard to change as many people’s lives as possible. But we know how to have fun and reward ourselves too.

So, do you have what it takes to become the next member of team AlgaeCal?

Job opportunities like this don’t come along often, and we’ve got a lot to offer our successful applicant. So, to make sure our future IT Administrator is the real-deal, will be a great fit, and will thrive at AlgaeCal, we ask a little more than your run-of-the-mill job application:
