POSITION SUMMARY:The College of Business invites applications for an Open Rank (Assistant or Associate Professor - Tenure-Track or Professor of Practice) of Technology Management with an emphasis in Aerospace Systems Management, Project Management, Operations Management, or related areas. This position is designed to attract both tenure-track academic candidates and seasoned practitioners.
In addition to adhering to the general faculty guidelines, as specified by the Employee Handbook, the Dean of Colleges, Assistant Dean of the College of Business, and the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs, duties will include:
DUTIES:
  • Teaching a variety of upper-division Management courses which may include Aerospace Systems Management, Project Management, Operations Management, or Management of Technology courses in day, night, weekend, distance learning formats and at various offsite locations;
  • Developing, and delivering courses in a variety of modes, including online courses that ensure quality and effective assessment;
  • Working with a range of students to assist them in reaching goals and learning outcomes;
  • Participating in professional development and/or scholarship appropriate for a teaching institution to maintain currency in disciplinary field(s);
  • Maintaining office hours and advising students;
  • Willingness to contribute to the University's mission in terms of undergraduate teaching, research, creative activities, etc.;
  • Providing service to the institution through active on-campus involvement in committees and special projects as assigned;
  • Actively engaging with area businesses, government agencies, and contractors to develop experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Serve on university, college, department, and departmental committees
  • Assuming any other professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by administrative personnel.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Preference will be given to candidates possessing industry and/or academic experience in the aerospace industry and the management of organizations therein;
  • Minimum Required: Master's degree from a fully accredited institution of higher education with 18 graduate semester hours in one or more of the teaching areas mentioned.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.
