Position Overview
The Manager, Technology Training & Enablement is responsible for developing and leading the training strategy that enables employees to successfully adopt and use Davey's technology platforms, tools, and digital workflows.
Serving as a bridge between technology teams, business stakeholders, and end users, this role translates new platforms, system enhancements, features, and business processes into practical, engaging, and role-based learning experiences. The Manager will ensure employees understand not only how to use technology, but also how to use it successfully to improve the way they work and achieve business outcomes.
This position will lead the development and delivery of a blended technology learning program that includes instructor-led training, onsite and in-person learning, virtual training, on-demand learning, job aids, videos, digital adoption resources, and ongoing reinforcement.
The Manager will also lead and develop one Technology Trainer, establishing consistent training standards, strengthening facilitation and technology expertise, and ensuring the team can effectively support technology adoption across a diverse, geographically distributed organization.
The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of technology and business processes with expertise in adult learning, instructional design, facilitation, and change enablement. This individual must be comfortable learning complex technology, translating technical functionality into clear and practical guidance, and helping users understand how technology can make them more successful in their roles.
Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead Davey's technology training and enablement strategy, ensuring employees successfully adopt new platforms, system enhancements, and technology-enabled business processes.
  • Partner with technology teams, business leaders, and subject matter experts throughout the technology lifecycle to identify training needs, support implementations, and integrate enablement into project plans.
  • Translate complex technology, workflows, and business processes into practical, role-based learning experiences that help users understand both how to use technology and how it supports business outcomes.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable blended learning programs using instructor-led, virtual, onsite, and on-demand training methods.
  • Create and maintain technology training materials, including eLearning modules, videos, job aids, quick-reference guides, standard operating procedures, FAQs, train-the-trainer programs, and other user enablement resources.
  • Develop role-based learning paths and standardized training methodologies that support users with varying technical skill levels and learning preferences.
  • Serve as the training lead for new technology implementations, platform rollouts, feature releases, and major system enhancements by developing launch readiness plans, coordinating pilot training, gathering user feedback, and supporting phased deployments.
  • Deliver engaging technology training through classroom, virtual, onsite, and field-based learning environments using realistic business scenarios and hands-on instruction.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, reinforcement, office hours, and user support to improve technology proficiency and long-term adoption.
  • Lead, coach, and develop one Technology Trainer by establishing performance expectations, strengthening facilitation and instructional design skills, expanding technical knowledge, and promoting continuous professional development.
  • Establish consistent training standards, templates, processes, and best practices across the technology training team.
  • Measure training effectiveness through participation, knowledge retention, user confidence, technology adoption, and business performance metrics, using data and feedback to continuously improve learning programs.
  • Partner with Marketing Technology, Information Technology, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, and Learning & Development to ensure training supports business priorities and organizational change initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new learning technologies, digital adoption tools, and training methodologies that improve scalability, engagement, and user success.
  • Travel to corporate offices, branch locations, and field operations, as needed, to support technology implementations, instructor-led training, and user adoption initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, learning and development, business, technology, communications, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years of experience in technology training, learning and development, instructional design, software enablement, digital adoption, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, managing, coaching, or mentoring training professionals or similar teams.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training for enterprise technology platforms or business applications.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Experience designing blended learning programs that include instructor-led, virtual, onsite, and on-demand learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex technology and translate technical functionality into clear, practical, user-friendly training.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on technology implementations, platform rollouts, or significant system changes.
  • Ability to manage multiple training initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify the difference between a training need, a process issue, and a technology issue.
  • Ability to travel to offices, branches, or other locations to deliver onsite training and support technology implementations, as needed.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital adoption platforms, e-learning authoring tools, video-based learning, and virtual training technologies.
  • Experience with change management, organizational change, or user adoption methodologies.
  • Experience developing train-the-trainer programs.
  • Experience using technology adoption data, analytics, and user feedback to measure training effectiveness and improve learning programs.
